From the Founder

PATINA is the result of ideas percolating for the past decade.  A mindset of curiosity that was unearthed while trying to keep up with everything I thought I wanted. Unknowingly, I had begun worshipping at the altar of accelerating productivity when what I wanted was to slow everything down.

When I was present enough to pay attention to the small, seemingly insignificant moments of my day, I felt connected, engaged and at ease. And I wanted more. What I had previously considered frivolous – the pursuit of beauty, the devotion to ritual, the lure of reverence – became my north star.

This little corner of the internet is the result. It’s an experiment. What if we tried to simplify the ineffable nature of truth and beauty into objects and spaces? How would that affect our daily lives? Can “things” truly enrich the human experience? These are big thoughts to ruminate over, and PATINA is my imperfect attempt to investigate them. My hope is that along the way we discover greater awareness and respect for what we choose to surround ourselves with.

OUR OFFERING

PATINA is essentially an incubator. An assortment of objects, spaces and experiences to help you reconnect. Beauty is, after all, the ability to transcend the ordinary.

Our first offering, a concise edit of intimates, is designed to help you move through the world with a little more confidence… perhaps even a little more faith in your own magnetism. These pieces are a vehicle to remind you of your inherent alchemic qualities. A subtle nudge to prioritize embodiment over living on autopilot.

For the home, we present bespoke and limited-run pieces that encourage daily devotion. Be that a tassel-embellished mirror, or a meditation mat and cushion crafted from luxury cloth, each item is a product of meticulous sourcing and development.

We strongly believe anyone making physical products bears the responsibility for their impact. Being considerate of resources, both environmentally and ethically, is our baseline and not a marketing tactic. More specifically, our approach encompasses:

  • Working with manufacturing partners who value their workers and offer fair compensation + safe working conditions
  • Small-batch production directly with independent businesses in the EU
  • Using materials that are deadstock or OEKO-TEX certified with low minimums to limit over-ordering
  • Limiting plastic packaging throughout the production cycle, fulfilment and dispatch
  • Supporting independent creatives and compensating them fairly for their contributions
